Obituary For Yorki Rafik Eneyni

Yorki Rafik Eneyni, Esq. died on March 28, 2008 in his son's home in Hanover, Massachusetts, surrounded by family after battling an extended illness at age 74. He was born in Homs, Syria in May, 1933 and was educated in Damascus Law School and was famed as "The Banker" at the Commercial Bank of Syria. Mr. Eneyni has lived in Hanover for the past 4 years. Adored, respected and aspired to, he led a life of greatness and humility. Generous, nurturing and mild-mannered, he conducted his life with respect and kindness leaving behind loving family and friends worldwide. Mr. Eneyni is survived by his wife Jeanette (Eneyni) Eneyni, his son, Doctor Mazen Eneyni of Hanover , and his daughter Architect Hazar Eneyni of Aleppo, Syria and 7 loving grandchildren. He was also the brother of Hayat Eneyni of Canada and Rafika Eneyni of Syria. A Funeral Service was held in the Panagia Greek Orthodox Church, 811 Jerusalem Rd. Cohasset, on Wednesday, April 2nd at 9:00 AM. Burial followed in Hanover Center Cemetery. Calling hours were held in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. ROCKLAND Tuesday, April 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Trisagon Service was conducted at 7:30 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

    My love and thoughts with Tante Jeanette, Mazen and Hazar, as well as the grand kids. Khalo Yorgui was a most loving and gentle man, always smiling, always holding a good conversation, always full of vitality and honesty. I shall miss him for sure. Even without Khalo Yorgui with us, I hope to see you all sometime in spite of the big distance between us... maybe a family gathering in Syria? My sincerest condolences. Fares

    It?s hard for me to write these words. I?ve known Yorki all my life. He was not only my first cousin, he was also my best friend, a most honorable man, a gracious mentor, and the brother I never had. With the deepest sadness I received the news of his passing.
