I just heard about Bill's passing and I am shocked and saddened at the news. I knew Bill for years. I met him almost 40 years ago. He called on me when I was at Ames department stores. Over the years we became good friends and shared some good times on and off the golf course. I remember at dinners we had Bill always had a tall glass of milk. He was a classic guy a true gentleman and most of all a stand up human being. I will miss him

If it wasn't a piece of cake it was a can of corn. Best cannonball I've ever seen. Never truly figured out how he swung a golf club with those stogies in his mouth. Always made me smile and he's in my thoughts often, I'll miss him greatly. Little Charlie

Billy was like family to us, I'm so sorry he's gone. He'll always have a special place in my heart and I'm so glad I got the chance to see him one last time not too long ago when he was out with my dad. You're all in my thoughts, now and always as our families grew up alongside each other. Love, Jen Cahill (Smedile)

Billy was an amazing man. We were cousins. He and I knew each other since we we'd been toddlers. He was one of the most hard-working, decent, honest, successful and highly regarded men I've ever known. He never let any adversity prevent him from achieving the goals he set for himself. He loved his wife and kids. He loved what he did for work. He loved playing golf and was exceptionally good at it. He excelled at whatever he attempted to do. He was, and will remain, a role model for others to emulate. - Cousin Eddie
