Obituary For William G. Dahlquist

William G. Dahlquist, 64 of Pembroke formerly of Rockland died on March 27, 2013 at the South Shore Hospital. He was born in Key West, FL son of the late John and Sarah (Cantrell) Dahlquist. He was raised and educated in Abington graduating from Abington High School. Mr. Dahlquist was an Army veteran of the Vietnam war. He has made his home in Pembroke since 2011 after living in Rockland for over 40 years.

Bill served as a Postal Clerk in Abington for over 34 years and after his retirement he was employed at the Biz Place in Abington for the past 8 years. He was a member of the Abington American Legion and the Abington VFW.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Laureen R. (Haggerty) Dahlquist and his sons Jason M. Dahlquist and his wife Elizabeth of Bedford and Aaron M.Dahlquist and his wife Casey of Portland, ME. He was the loving grandfather of Cora A., Molly P., and Matthew P. Dahlquist. He was preceded in death by his brother John M. Dahlquist. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. Rockland. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday April 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St. Boston, MA.

    Dear Laureen, We are so sorry about your loss. We couldn't believe that he had passed because he was just at the card store it seemed to us. He was always so helpful and nice. We ar so sorry that you lost him so young. God bless Cynda and Rudy Childs

    What a wonderful photo that your family will treasure for generations to come! I was saddened to learn of Billy's passing. We were in economics class together at Abington High School and were part of a group that hung out after school that brings back many great memories of the time I spent in Abington. My deepest sympathy to the family.
