Obituary For William “Billy” Adams
On July 7, 2022 William “Billy” Burnham Adams of Rockland, MA died peacefully at home. He was 58 years old having been born Feb. 2, 1964 in Hanover, MA to Mary Bertolet Adams and Charles Waldron Adams, Jr. Billy is survived by His life partner, Dorothy MacDermid, his sister Susan A. Johnson and her husband Stephen of Florida, predeceased by his brother Charles Waldron Adams, III, his wife Donna, his nephews Charles Waldron Adams IV and his wife Sara of Maine, Stephen Johnson and his wife Laura of Pembroke, Benjamin Johnson and his wife Kelly of Hanover, his niece Jennifer Johnson and her partner Clark Brewer of Cohasset, as well as 11 grand nieces and nephews. Billy attended Hanover High School and graduated from ITT Tech, working first as a mechanic for several South Shore dealerships and then as a carpenter, skills he used to help many friends and neighbors. Although Billy struggled with his demons most of his life, he never gave up. Family and friends lovingly remember Billy as a friend to many, with a big heart and a great laugh and sense of humor. Highlights of his life were extended sailing trips throughout Cape Cod Bay and fishing. Friends from high school might remember the “shed”. Billy loved to camp. He studied local history to find the best spots for metal detecting. He loved to read anything that involved adventures at sea and sailing captains- he was descended from sailing captains from Provincetown and was a descendant of several families that came over on the Mayflower. We invite you to come celebrate Billy’s life on Saturday, August 13 at 1:00 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3 Goddard Ave., Rockland, MA 02370. We encourage you to share your stories of Bill. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his memory to The Anchor of Hull 7 Hadassah Way, Hull, MA 02045.

Very sorry about Billy's passing. A genuine "nice guy", always fun to be around, my brothers best friend growing up. Many great times and stories shared. Saw him recently and was looking forward to hooking up for a fishing excursion like the last old days... Will miss you Billy .
