Obituary For Walter L. Harriman

Walter L. Harriman, 85 of Rockland died on July 6, 2013 at the South Shore Hospital. He was born, raised and educated in Laconia N.H. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the age of sixteen and proudly served his country throughout the United States and in Iceland for 22 years.

After his discharge he worked as a computer programmer for the Honeywell Corporation in Billerica for 20 years. After he retired he worked with his wife Rosina "Rose" M. (Sassi) Harriman at "Rose's Thrift Shop" on Union Street in Rockland.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Kathy M. Harriman-Spear of Marshfield and Denise A. Richardson and her husband Ricky of Rockland. He was the grandfather of Jason J. and Marc W. Richardson and Melia K. and Sarah W. Spear. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Laurent, Robert Harriman and Albert Harriman.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland on Wednesday July 10, 2013 from 5-8 PM A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday July 11, 2013 in Holy Family Church, 403 Union St. Rockland at 9:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Rockland Veteran's Memorial c/o Anton Materna, Town Hall 242 Union St. Rockland, MA. 02370

    Rose, Denise & family. So sorry to read of Walter's passing. Always enjoyed talking and joking with him at Roses Thrift Shop ( which I miss terribly !!!) . He always had a smile and quick wit. Thinking of you all at this time of sadness.
