Virginia M. McParland, age 84, of Rockland, died on Sunday February 4, 2018 at The Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center in Norwell. Virginia was born in South Boston, Daughter of the late Henry and Susan (Murphy) Berlo. Mrs. McParland was raised and educated in South Boston, graduating from South Boston High School. She worked in the accounting department at Stop n' Shop in Quincy for over thirty years. Virginia loved to golf. She also enjoyed vacationing to Florida, and the Carolinas. More than anything, Virginia loved to spend time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Virginia was the loving wife of the late Edward G. McParland. Sister of, Robert M. Berlo of Hingham, Rose M. Hines of Quincy, James A. Berlo of Quincy, Susan A. Mulligan of Marshfield, Ann M. Kennedy of South Boston, Mary H. Burmieika of Rockland, and the late William Berlo and Henry Berlo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Virginia's family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate her life in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland MA 02370, on Thursday February 8, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 9:00 AM in The Holy Family Church in Rockland. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass in the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
