Obituary For Virginia M. Casey

Virginia Marie Casey, "Ginne", of Whitman, Ma died on June 29th 2017 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. Born and raised in Bennington, VT. Ginne was the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Alice (Houran) Vachon. She was educated at St. Francis de Sales Academy and Bennington High School and attended St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsfield, Ma. A registered nurse, Ginne was employed at several Boston Hospitals, retiring from the Brockton V.A. Medical Center. After retiring, she was a Pastoral Visitor and Eucharistic Minister at Brockton Hospital, and Eucharistic Minister to the home bound in Rockland. She was a former member of Holy Family Mother's Club, Mass Nurses Association, South Shore Nurses Association, a Red Cross Disaster Nurse, and for four years was president of NAGE, the nurse's union at BVAMC. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society's "Good Time Gals".

In earlier years Ginne enjoyed hiking many trails in NH, along with flat water canoeing. Her many hobbies included reading, knitting, crossword puzzles, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was witty, smart and possessed a great sense of humor. She was endeared by all who knew her.

Wife of the late James P. Casey, she was the devoted mother of daughter Patricia M. Wisniewski and her husband, the late Wilfred Anton Wisniewski of Pembroke, Ma and daughter Kathleen L. Cummings and her companion Dennis J. Kearney of Pembroke, Ma. She was the sister of Robert Vachon and his wife Anita of Aiken, SC, and the sister of the late Richard Vachon and his wife the late Ruth Vachon of Bennington, Vt. She was the sister in law to John Casey of Roscommon, Ireland. She also leaves behind her grandson Eric Johndrow and his girlfriend Dakota Moen of Weymouth. Several nieces and nephews will dearly miss Ginne.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Ginne's life at a Funeral Mass on Thursday July 6, 2017 at 9:00 AM at Holy Ghost Church in Whitman. A burial will be held at a later date in Vermont. For more information please visit www.magounbiggins.com

    To my dear nieces, Kathi and Patti, Your mother, Ginne was one of the nicest persons on this earth. I enjoyed each and every communications between she and I and I will miss her, but I'll never forget her. Our exchange of those humorous Emails were a delight.
    I thank your mother for marring my brother James Casey and we became part of her family.
