Obituary For Thomas M. Leary

Thomas Michael Leary, 56, of Rockland MA, passed away at South Shore Hospital on June 15, 2025 with his beloved wife, Karen Leary, and his two children Ryan and Allyson at his side.

Thomas was born on December 9, 1968 in Braintree, Massachusetts to John and Phyllis Leary. He was the youngest of four children: John "Jack", Michael, and Daniel. Thomas grew to love the game of golf, hockey, and baseball through his experiences playing sports together with his father and brothers. He graduated from Blue Hills Regional Technical School in 1987 and started his own family shortly after in 1991.

Thomas enjoyed scuba diving and exploring all the wonders the ocean had to offer. He was a member of the Holbrook Sportsmen's Club where he enjoyed spending his weekends with friends in shooting and marksman competitions. Thomas loved to travel and he took many trips with Karen to Nascar race circuits around the United States, Disney World, and the Caribbean Islands.

Ryan and Allyson, his two children, were his entire world. His children gave him strength, joy, and love. He cherished his family and was a loving father. Thomas was at every game, performance, and recital of Allyson and Ryan, and cheered them on through their successes and failures. He was so proud of Ryan and Allyson and all they accomplished during his life.

Thomas had an enormous heart. If his family, friends, or even a stranger were in need, he would drop everything to help. He didn't do things for praise or recognition, it was simply his instinct to ease others' hardships. His empathy ran deeply and he made sure those around him felt seen and heard no matter what they were going through.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Karen, his brothers John "Jack" Leary Jr. and his wife Betty of Stoughton, Michael Leary and his wife Mary of Sandwich, Daniel Leary and his wife Cindy of Londonderry, his son, Ryan Leary and his fiance Aileen Konanez of Warren, his daughter, Allyson Leary, and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, John and Phyllis Leary.

Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland MA, all are welcome to attend. A small ceremony will be held at 6 PM where friends and family are encouraged to share thoughts and memories of Thomas.

I just found out about the loss of Tommy. This is heartbreaking. I always tell people about when he was little and Phyllis sent him to bed. He wanted her to come upstairs. She said Tommy your fine God is with you. He said Mom I want someone with skin. Love Cookie

So sad to hear that my little cousin Tommy had passed away. I am very lucky to have so many great memories hanging at Bowditch St. in East Braintree playing and doing kid stuff with Tommy and his brothers over the years growing up. So happy for those memories during such a sad time. It's nice knowing that Tommy is not going to be alone going into the dark and starting his new ever lasing life. We all know his mom and dad are going to be there for him and they will be back together again. Just goes to prove the old saying "only the good die young" is so true. Rest in peace my little cousin, you left us way to soon. Deepest condolences to Tommy's family and his brothers, so very sorry for your loss. Love you guys. Glen

Dear Karen Ryan and Allyson, I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear about your great loss, My thoughts are with you and your family. Tommy was one in a million traffic guy to be around , a fantastic workmate with me at emdserono for many years , He helped out so many people when needed no matter what issue was and always ready to give advise, good bad or indifferent. I even got Ryan and himself to play Soccer ( real football ) that is, man was he fast I had to trip him once or twice just to slow him down . He will be sadly missed that's for sure. May the peace of the good lord be with you all as you grieve his passing. Gerry Fahey.
