Obituary For Thomas F. Farley

Thomas F. Farley, 75 of E. Bridgewater died after a period of failing health. He was born in Brockton, son of the late Vinson and Gertrude (Joyette) Farley and was raised and educated in Abington. Tom graduated from Abington High School in 1957.

A longtime Rockland resident he had moved to East Bridgewater 9 years ago. Mr. Farley had been a longtime distributor of Cain's and later Bachman potato chips. For the past 20 years he has been employed as a driver and ambassador for the Sullivan Tire Company.

He was a member of the Abington Knights of Columbus and had been a member of the Abington Jay-Cees. His greatest pride was as a tireless volunteer for the Abington Food Pantry.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon A. (Kavell) Farley and his children, Thomas B. Farley and Jennifer L. Cummings both of Whitman. He was the grandfather of Michael Hickey, Brittany Farley, Jeffrey Farley. Katelyn Farley and Kylie Cummings. He was also proud to be the great grandfather to His grandsons Jaiden and Cameron. Also surviving are his siblings, Robert Farley and Richard Farley of Marshfield and Barbara Washburn of FL/> The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland on Thursday,18, 2015 from 5-8PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget's Church, in Abington on Friday June 19, 2015 at 9:00 AM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Abington Food Pantry, 455 Plymouth Street Abington, MA 02351 a container to collect food items will be available at the funeral home.

Dear Sharon and family- I share your grief. Tom and I were not close friends in recent years, but in our younger days we shared many, many good times. He was unfailingly cheerful and optimistic then and at our most recent meeting. I always enjoyed talking with Tom at our high school reunions, reliving the days of our youth. I will miss his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to look past the present and look forward to the future. He was a good man. Now he is at peace.
