Obituary For Theodore V. Norkus, Sr

Theodore V. Norkus, Sr., 90 of Charlotte, NC died on November 19, 2014 after being stricken suddenly. He was born in Boston, son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Jovaisas) Norkus and was raised and educated in Weymouth. A longtime Rockland resident he had resided in Florida for 11 years and recently moved to North Carolina.

Mr. Norkus served in the Merchant Marine during World War II and later became a construction worker with Laborers Union #223 in Boston and then Local #1652 in Florida. He loved to cook, garden and fish.

Husband of the late Angela (Porrazzo) Norkus, he was the father of Victoria A. Laiacona of NC and Karen M. Little and her husband Kevin of Quincy. He was also the father of the late Theodore Norkus, Jr. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Caicedo, Kaitlyn Little, Michael and Bryan Norkus, 3 great grandchildren, Sarah and William Caicedo and Michael Norkus as well as many nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Friday, November 28, 2014 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland from 5-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 9 AM in Holy Family Church. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

    I found this by accident, I lived next door at 136 north ave Rockland, my name is Jackie C. I'll never forget your mom (Angie) getting me a white cat for my birthday. (And Alice giving it back). I remember a lot more about Teddy and Kevin. Sucks getting old, God bess . JC

    Vicki, Karen and Family We are so sorry for your loss. Your father was a thoughtful and generous man. He loved his family and was very proud of his grandchildren.
