Obituary For Tamara “Tammy” Tobin-Stanton
Tamara “Tammy” Tobin-Stanton, 57, a lifelong resident of Rockland, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her home on Sunday, December 28. She was the proud and devoted mother of Nicholas “Nick” Stanton, also of Rockland.
Tammy was a lifelong resident of the Wyman Fields neighborhood and a graduate of Rockland High School, Class of 1986. She attended Massasoit Community College, where she studied business. She had a knack for discovering the very best yard sales and took great pride in showing off her many treasured bargains. One of her favorite pastimes was camping with her family. A devoted animal lover, Tammy raised many schnauzers over the years and was especially proud of her current puppy, Oreo.
Tammy was currently employed as a patient administrator at Signature Healthcare in Brockton. Her career spanned more than 30 years, including positions at Harvard Vanguard, Clean Harbors, and Filene’s in Boston, where she met her lifelong partner, Bob Stanton. At every job she held, she was deeply respected for her strong work ethic and dedication.
She was known for her compassion, tireless energy and her unwavering willingness to show up whenever a friend, neighbor, or family member was in need. Tammy was passionate about her family, friends and her lifelong home. Her spirited, one-of-a-kind personality and memorable antics brought laughter, warmth, and color into the lives of all who knew her.
In addition to her son Nick, Tammy is survived by Nick’s father, Robert “Bob” Stanton; her beloved sister, Mary Tobin-Rosman, and her husband, Daniel Rosman; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving parents, William and Elinor Tobin, who greatly influenced the way she lived her life, and by her brothers, William Tobin and Robert Tobin.
Tammy’s role as Nick’s mother was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, January 6, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland. A memorial Mass will follow on Wednesday, January 7, at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street, Rockland.

Tammy and I were inseparable during a period in high school. We have so many fond memories, from driving to Florida in my Pontiac Lemans and spending time at her sisters college dorm at Bentley. Every day was an adventure! She was always so full of energy and laughter. Will miss you Tammy! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers!! Love you kiddo!!

I'm at a loss for words. I just saw Tammy less than a month ago at urgent care when I brought my youngest in for an ear infection. She was a dear friend of my father's who had passed away 8 years ago this month. While he was battling cancer. She was an amazing friend and a heart warming phone call til the very end of his life. She was beautiful soul. Although I hated my children being sick, I loved running into her. Never did I ever think that was going to be the last time I saw her. She talked about her son and going on vacation. I'm so sad I won't run into you again. Rest in the sweetest peace Tammy ❤️
