Obituary For Steven R. Gobbis

Steven R. Gobbis, 63, of Kingston, formerly of Hanover passed away peacefully at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, MA on Thursday, April 9, 2015. His longtime companion, friend and love was by his side.

Born in Boston to the late John B. Gobbis and the late Mary M. (Calhoun)(Gobbis) Cavanagh. He was raised in Dorchester, Brockton and North Quincy having attended schools in Brockton and graduating from North Quincy High School in 1969.

Steve was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Navy from 1970-1974. He retired as a technician from Verizon after 39 years of service and also earned an Associate Degree from Massasoit Community College through the company's next step program. Besides his parents, he is survived by his brother, Raymond J. (Ray), his sister-in-law, Barbara and nephew, Michael of Salisbury, North Carolina. Also, his longtime companion, Constance E. (Connie) Cunningham, Connie's mother and family and many cousins.

Steve was a communicant of Holy Family Catholic Church in Rockland where his funeral mass was held. Burial will be at a later date. If interested, donations may be made in his memory to Fr.
