Stephen Joseph Ball passed away on August 13, 2026, leaving behind family, friends, and loved ones who will deeply miss him

Stephen is survived by his sister, Pauline Garton, and her husband, Bret Garton, her niece Janelle O’Callaghan and his best friends Colleen Leonard and Stephen Jacques as well as many family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Snoopy, his faithful companion.

Stephen is predeased by his father, Joseph Ball and his mother, Bernice Ball.

Stephen proudly served his country in the United States Army as an Army Ranger, assigned to Company B, 4th Battalion, 16th Infantry. During his military service, Stephen served in the Grenada conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his actions during the conflict. His service to his country was a source of great pride.

Stephen was a proud firefighter, EMT, and paramedic, serving with the Hull Fire Department and Fallon Ambulance Service. He later earned a Master of Science in Addiction Research and clinical health degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Stephen was a talented finish carpenter, an avid sports fan, and loved animals of all kinds. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and was known for his attention to detail and dedication to quality in every project he undertook. Whether cheering on his favorite teams or caring for animals, he brought the same enthusiasm and warmth that defined his character.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stephen’s memory to the Brockton VA Circa Program , honoring his commitment to veterans and the veteran community.

A graveside committal service with military honors will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Thursday August 20, 2026 at 10:45 AM.
