Obituary For Stanley J. Denty

Stanley J. Denty Jr., 85, of Rockland died after a period of failing health at the Colonial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Weymouth on April 14, 2008. He was born in Somerville, son of the late Caroline S. (Sorenson) and Stanley J. Denty Sr. He was raised and educated in Waltham and Rhode Island. Stanley was a proud veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving in the Army during World War II. During his service to our country Mr. Denty participated in both the amphibious assault on Omaha Beach on D-Day, as well as fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Stanley was a member of the Society of the 1st Infantry Division, The Battle of the Bulge Association, the Newton Elks Club Lodge #1327, the Rockland Eagles, The Freemasons Norumbega Fraternity Lodge, and the Laborer's International Union of North America Local #133. Stanley enjoyed reading, especially books about history and religion. More than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his Grandchildren. Stanley was the Husband of the late Elizabeth M. Denty. Mr. Denty is survived by his three children, Stanley J. Denty III of Weymouth, Francis W. Denty of ME, and Patricia A. Ging of West Roxbury. Father-in-law of Carol A. Denty of Abington, George Ging of West Roxbury, and Debi Denty of Maine. Brother of Edwin H. Denty of Plymouth, Margaret M. Mansur of Marlborough and the late Francis W. Denty. Also surviving are 9 Grandchildren 16 Great-Grandchildren 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. ROCKLAND on Saturday April 19th from 10-11:00 AM. Funeral Services will follow calling hours at 11:00 AM.
