Obituary For Speranza DeNicola
Speranza (Hope) Mastriani DeNicola, 97, of Rockland & Hingham, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on July 25, 2018. Predeceased by her husband Ferdinand (Pete) DeNicola. Loving mother of Carol Wilson of Rockland, Jerry DeNicola of Crossville, TN, and the late Barbara Cronin-Basler of Norwell. Grandmother to Brian Cronin, Ledyard CT, Deanna Buelow, Santa Maria, CA, Pamela Hatch, Pembroke, Scott DeNicola, Kingston, Christina Killarney, Rockland and the late Michael Cronin of Braintree. Treasured great grandmother to nine. Predeceased by siblings Mary Hansen, Reggie Bates, Guy Mastrianni, Silvio Mastrianni and Peter Mastrianni.
Hope worked for many years at Fanny Farmer Candy Shop in the Hanover Mall. She enjoyed cake decorating, painting, ceramics, cooking and entertaining family and friends. She had a lot of joy caring for her family and friends. Among her accomplishments, she was President of the St. John's Junior League. Long time parishioner of Resurrection Parish, Hingham. Hope was the captain of her high school basketball team. Hope also enjoyed exercising and especially enjoyed swimming in her backyard pool.
The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Hope's life on Friday July 27, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday July 28, 2018 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Burial will be held privately.
A Special thank you to the wonderful care provided to her from the staff at Queen Anne's Nursing Home in Hingham.
