Shirley I. (Martin) Brewer, 87 of Hanson died on March 25, 2014 at the Signature Health Care Center in Orange Park Florida. She was born in Boston, Daughter of the late Edward, and Blanch (Cottrell) Martin.

Shirley worked at New England Medical Center as a Private Duty Nurse and Operating Room Nurse for several years before continuing her Nursing Career at the Plymouth County Hospital in Hanson in order to be closer to her family.

She loved camping, especially at her favorite spot at Rickers Pond in Vermont, Shirley was an active member in the Hannah Shaw chapter of the Eastern Star in Middleboro and was past Worthy Matron. Mrs. Brewer was also an active member of the First Congregational Church in Hanson where she served on various boards, also a member of the "maids and Matrons", and served many Lenten and Church Chowder Suppers.

Mrs. loved animals and had many pets, she also loved to knit, crochet, cross stitching. More than anything Mrs Brewer enjoyed her trips to Hanson's Cranbery Cove with her Children. Her Grandchildren fondly remember her wonderful Woopie Pies which they all requested for their birthdays.

Shirley is the wife of the late Robert A. Brewer Sr. She is survived by her children, Edward A. Brewer II and his wife Christine of Halifax, Linda B. Murray and her husband John of FL, Robert A. Brewer Jr and his wife Janet of Hanson, and Lisa M Paananen and her husband Charles of Brockton. Grandmother of Michael A Bearce, Alex M Paananen, Matti Paananen, Matthew H. Bearce, Robert A. Brewer III, Christopher D. Brewer, Edward A. Brewer III, Stephen A. Brewer, Christine W. Brewer, and Mikayla B. Brewer. Great Grandmother of, Grady A. Bearce, Brooke E. Bearce, and Lily Paananen. The family welcomes friends and loved one's to celebrate her life on Monday March 31, 2014 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA, from 5-8 PM. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Tuesday April 1, 2014 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in The Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
