Years ago when I was a little girl I lived next door to the Cotter family and loved going over to play with their children. I remember Shawn as a very nice man who loved his children and was saddened to recently see his picture in Rockland center on a poster for his dedication benefit. Your family is in my prayers...

Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family during this very difficult time. Mr. Cotter was my English teacher and Basketball coach back in 1984-1985. The news of his passing has deeply saddened me, but I will always remember his words of encouragement and his love of education. He was a true gentleman whom everyone admired. I will always remember Shawn as a dedicated and caring basketball coach. His love for the sport and his commitment to helping his players become strong confident athletes contributed to one of the happiest times of my life...winning a basketball state championship for Abington High School.
