Sharlene Morse-Edwards, of Hanover, passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a long battle with Alzhiemers. She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 40 years, Terry L. Edwards. She is predeceased by her eldest son, William L. Morse III and survived by his wife Robin Morse of Bourne. We are sure Will met her with one of his infamous hugs as she crossed over. Sharlene is also survived by her children Whitney L. Carpenter and her husband Daniel of Hanson, Wade L. Morse and his wife Marie of Milton, Alison F. Edwards-LaPre of Mooresville, NC and Chellis C. Kirkland and her husband Stephen of Newfields, NH. She leaves her cherished grandchildren Devon Morse, Lucas Morse, Blake Carpenter, Ellie Kirkland, Jack Kirkland, Grant Morse and Mina LaPre. She is also survived by her "Cuz" Russell Haller of Weymouth as well as several nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered as having a heart filled with love for all those she came in contact with, acceptance of everyone, and an infectious smile. She had an open door policy, and filled her house with music, dancing, art and her animated spirit. No one was ever just an acquaintance–she knew everyone’s birthday, and would often give her astrological insight to any and all she met. Her family recalls the hand-drawn gift wrap, lunch bags, cards, and even her famous cow-painted refrigerator. To know Sharlene was to be loved by Sharlene and that was a gift.

She was a magnet for children and enjoyed her many years as a teacher's aide at Center Elementary School in Hanover. Her artwork could be seen on school bulletin boards and in later years around town as thank-yous for donations given to The Hanover High School Band. Over those years she developed a strong bond with a very special group of women, some of whom she is catching up with right now. She looked forward to her Monday luncheons with her dear friends, Dottie and Patty, to watch "The Story" (aka: Days of Our Lives).

In her younger years, she participated in the Hanover PTA Community Theatre, taking on the roles of Ado Annie in Oklahoma and Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls. She loved music, and passed on that love to her children. She was the biggest supporter of all their musical endeavors, including the jam sessions in the basement. When she was finished raising children, she helped out her other dear friend Carol, at First Class Pre-School where she made life-long friends with the children and their families.

She reunited with her long-time friend and soulmate, Terry, bringing their children together into one family. They enjoyed many years of travel to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. There were several road trips to Florida including St. Augustine, Punta Gorda, Englewood and Orange City. A stop in Nags Head, NC was also a must. She loved the ocean, the beach, lighthouses, and seagulls. She had her one and only trip on an airplane to Arizona after having a practice run on a small single engine plane, which she preferred over the jet. A bit ironic since she did attend flight attendant school in her younger years. Her favorite color was purple and she was very proud of her purple door, which adorned their house. She had a love for animals, especially cows!

Sharlene was affectionately referred to as Princess Moonatic, Mum, Sharl, Fairy Godmother, and Granny Moo.

As she lived, “do all things with love.”

Sharlene’s family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A private family burial will be held in the Hanover Center Cemetery.
