Shannon was most definitely the most purest soul I have ever met and ever will meet. He made me feel so welcomed when I first started there we had an instant connection he had this humor that I understood right once I met him. His smile brightened up the whole restaurant and anywhere he went, his smile was contagious. Throughout all the stressful days with being short staffed at bdubs, Shannon always had a game plan of what was going to go down always with a smile on his face. The memory of him coming to check on me on one of my bad days telling me to "take a day off, take a bath do something good for myself" will never leave me. I won't ever forget the day after I found out he had worked at Panera, I hadn't asked him for any cookies (yet) and I walked out back and he came around the corner saying "kimmy I brought you some of the cookies I baked" and my heart melted it was pure happiness. You really brought so much joy and taught me so many things even some cool baking tricks. I will always remember the laughter you brought me. I love you Shannon rest in the sweetest peace love❤️ Till we meet again sweet angel

I remember the first day that I started Shannon was in the kitchen and an absolute beam of joy, welcoming me with open arms. Throughout the months that I worked with him, Shannon influenced me to be kinder to those around me, to work hard doing what you love, and I never saw him without a smile on his face. I'll forever cherish the memories that you gave me, all of us, because Shannon truly touched so many people. I remember every time that he would back inside from smoke breaks he would greet me as if he hadn't seen me in a long time, always leading to laughs, and for that Shannon i thank you. May you rest is peace my friend, thank you for your love

Shannon, you were one of my favorite students from my all-time favorite RHS class. I will always remember your friendly smile — the kind of smile that made one instantly feel comfortable, even if they were meeting you for the first time. My deepest sympathies to your family and friends. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. -Randy Grimmett

It's never going to be the same without you Shannon. It would be so easy to fill 10 guestbooks with praise and pride over your impact, how you deserved more from life, and how loved you will be forever. Words never pay proper tribute to someone like Shannon, but everyone has a lasting feeling of joy when they were lucky enough to meet him. He is truly the only person I've met where "yes for thee, not for me" was paramount, where he would turn the world upside down to make someone more comfortable, but never thought it would be right to have that same treatment for himself, or inconvenience anyone even a bit. What a heavy burden carrying around the biggest heart of anyone. It was a blessing that I was lucky enough to know you, even as gutting as it is to see you go. Your absence is only eased knowing you're joining your beloved pups again and that God's got the freshest produce for you to work with. Love you so much!!!

I personally never had the pleasure to get to know Shannon. However, my nephew knew him well. After hearing of your loss, and reading these beautiful memories, I am in tears at the loss your worlds have experienced. You were all truly blessed to have had the opportunity to have him in your lives, albeit too short. I pray that you all remember the lessons his life may have taught you all. To the parents, siblings and loved ones, please know your grief and pain are shared by all that had the honor to know him. God bless you all. My prayers are with you all today.

Ever since kindergarten art class, Shannon held a special spot in my heart. This quirky little individual thought deeply, spoke honestly and, even at a young age, was kind and sincere to all. I am honored to have been part of his life's journey and I hope wherever his spirit roams, it is at peace. xo

I wish there was a way to put in words the love and light that Shannon put out into the world. Over the past year I have had the pleasure of working with and becoming friends with him, we have shared countless laughs and smiles, stupid jokes and songs, and maybe a few tears too on those rough days. It is rare to meet someone who can make such a mark on your character, and I couldn't feel more lucky.. All of my love is with his friends and family, Rest In Peace my friend.

I will always remember hanging out with Shannon and some of his other friends in high school art class when I was a freshman and everyone else was an upperclassman. Thank you for making me feel welcome at a time in my life when I didn't always feel like I fit in. I will always remember your artistic talents, humor, and kindness. My condolences to your family and friends during this difficult time, I am thinking of them.

I've been blessed to have been able to get to know Shannon over the last year. Shannon was a very compassionate, kind, loving, authentic, and passionate individual. I've witnessed him leave a positive impact on well over 50+ people with his jovial smile, humbling mindset, and overall else his compassion. He was always an ear for anyone who needed it, a pat on the back, an uplifting spirit. He was very dedicated and again very passionate, even a small mistake was not okay in his book. Often times I'd say, "Hey, Shannon it's okay, no big deal" and he'd always reply; "Colin it's not okay, my mistakes affect people's experiences." He took a lot of pride in his work in return his coworkers took a lot of pride in him. It was never a bad day when Shannon was working, regardless of how bad the circumstances may have been, Shannon was there, smiling being a team player. If there's a message that Shannon would have wanted us all to take from this I think it would be to be a friend. Be patient with yourselves and each other. Listen deeply. Show compassion and care for your neighbor, peers, loved ones, and stranger on the street because I know damn well Shannon would. Thank you, Shannon, for giving this life everything that you had. Thank you for leaving a mark on so many. You will always be remembered and always be missed. ❤️

Here is the beautiful letter Shannon wrote to me after Bernie died: Dear Aunt Mary, the day we went to church to mourn the death of a loved one, I saw something too precious for words. What I saw was Unclen Bernies' soul rising out of where his body lay. On his back grew soft white fluffy angel wings. But the last things that happened were some of the most important. He told me not to worry, that he was happy and not to linger too long on the past. Then I saw Uncle Bernie float up to the church's' ceiling, hand and hand with an elderly gentleman with a long white beard. I hope this helps you deal with this awful event of Uncle Betmies death, What I saw and heard Made it so we could all pull through. Sincerely, love Shannon June, 2004 Beautiful letter!

I remember having my first sleepover as a child and having Shannon over. He excitedly came in with a plate of brownies and a small gift. He always wanted to express his love and appreciation for his friends even at a young age. I will forever hold that memory of laughter and late night movies You're shining soul will be missed.

I remember when Caitlyn and Shannon went to prom together and they looked amazing....You were such a happy soul. May you rest in eternal peace & your family find peace in all the wonderful memories they have.

I will always remember when my family was facing the choice of putting our dog Sydney down due to an injury we might not be able to afford to fix. Shannon showed up to one of our friend's party with a checkbook ready to do what ever he could do to help. That's just the kind, caring human he was as well as a funny and beautiful soul.

Always made my day even though you almost killed me with Desert Heat seasoning. You smiled and said "YOU WALKED RIGHT INTO IT,WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?" we both laughed and joked about it for a whole week. I was always happy to see you and I had fun making you have fun.

  • 05/03/2022

When I picture you, Shannon, I see that beautiful smile that radiated warmth and kindness. I can almost hear your laugh right now. You were always so special to me, and I loved seeing you and Cherise spend time together and grow so close. I remember being so flattered when you asked me to give you painting lessons. That meant so much to me. My mother used to say you were so full of love, and that is a perfect way to describe you. It's so hard to find the words to describe how much you meant to me, I love you. You're awesome.
