Obituary For Sean E. Wike
Sean E. Wike, born June 15, 1970, died on December 25, 2018 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Raised and educated in Tempe, AZ, he was part of the Mclintock high school graduating class of 1988.
Sean, or "Big Daddy" as he was affectionately known by many including his Army brothers and sisters, was an incredible husband to Kerri, and awesome father to Jackson and Charlee. They adored him and he was enthralled by them. It is the hardest part of losing him, the wonderful daddy-child bond they shared.
After high school, Sean joined the United States Army where he served as Sergeant on a tank in four campaigns over his ten year career. He spent time in Kansas, Germany, and the Middle East. He performed many roles, not limited to but including Tank commander, Driver, Loader, and Gunner. He was a Division Operations Sergeant and an NCOIC in many positions including at Battalion School, Division Operations Center, USR, and Battalion Taskings.
Sean then met Kerri and they fell in love and eventually Sean and his thin blood from years in Arizona and the Middle East moved to Massachusetts to be with her. They settled in Rockland, Ma and married in Kerri's home town of Plymouth. He was a curmudgeon with a heart of gold. A heavy metal dude but a big ol' softy. If you were friends with him, he was fiercely loyal and loving and would give you the shirt off his back. Sean was an eclectic guy. He loved metal bands. Slayer and Judas Priest were two particular faves. His affinity for a variety of things ran the gamut from sci-fi to comedy. Star Wars and Star Trek to Monty Python and Mel Brooks. At an early age he read everything he could on military history. He was a tolerant and kind soul. He was open minded and supportive of diversity despite his gruff exterior. He fought for everyone's right to be who they are. He had a wicked funny sense of humor, and could see the silliness in life for what it was. Sean is survived by his wife Kerri and their two kids, Jackson and Charlotte; and by his mom, Diane Doiron, and her husband David; and his father Vernon Wike as well as many Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews. Rest In Peace, Big Daddy. Soldier. Tanker. Trooper. Warrior.
The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Sean's life on Thursday January 3, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday January 4, 2018 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow at 12:30 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

You were more than just a neighbor/tenant. You brought joy into my daily life, when you pulled up next to me with those wonderful kids of yours, that I adore so much. You will be missed. May God bless your family during this time and always. What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us. -Helen Keller
