Obituary For Sarah Macdonald
Sarah (McCallum) Macdonald, 72 of Rockland died on February 15, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. She was born in Scotland, daughter of the late John and Hannah (Lee) McCallum and came to the United States at the age of 18.
Upon her arrival here she worked as a nanny in Newton. Sarah has made her home in Rockland for the past 45 years. She worked as a cafeteria aide at the Jefferson School and as a nurse's aide at both the Mildred Alford Nursing Home in Abington and the South Shore Nursing Home in Rockland. She later received her CNA as a home health aide and worked with the Rockland Visiting Nurse Association. A Lady of deep faith, she was a communicant of Holy Family Church and served on the Legion of Mary and was a Eucharistic Minister.
She is survived by her husband, of 48 years Alexander D. Macdonald and her children, Danielle A. Foster of Pembroke, Daniel A. Macdonald of Broomfield, CO and Elizabeth M. Chikodroff of Huntersville, NC. Also surviving are 6 loving grandchildren Brian, Ainsley, Kenley, Alex, Callum and Alexa. She was the sister of Mary Pitchford, Elizabeth McCallum, Malcolm McCallum, Martha Brown, Anne Mott and the late Bridget Murray, John McCallum,Edward McCallum, Joseph McCallum, Hannah McCallum, Michael McCallum, James McCallum and Billy McCallum. The family welcomes friends and family to celebrate her life on Thursday February 20, 2014 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA, from 5:00-8:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street Rockland, MA on Friday February 21st at 9:00am. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society c/o Holy Family Church 403 Union St. Rockland, MA 02370.

I'd thank you for the patience you took with a troubled child; and the council you gave the friend that child became. I will miss our many conversations.
