Obituary For Sandra Delores Dowdall

Sandra Delores (Cornwall) Dowdall, 82, Of Rockland passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia and lived in Dorchester before moving to Rockland to raise her family.

Sandy was predeceased by her husband Robert Thomas Dowdall and her three sons: John Paul, Robert Scott and Stephen Dowdall.

Sandy leaves behind her beloved daughter Susan "Suzie" Llewellyn and her husband John of Hanson. She also left behind her brothers Charles and Vincent Bell, both of Quincy, and her twin sisters – Paula Broadway of Bells, Tennessee and Pamela Palermino of Farmington, New Hampshire. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Sandy was a much-loved employee of the Rockland Public Schools for 36 years. She worked in the cafeteria and loved feeding all the students she affectionately called her kids.

She loved sewing, knitting, and quilting and spending time with her friends. She also loved traveling to the Cayman Islands with her beloved daughter Suzie.

Sandra's family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life in The Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Tuesday July 6th, from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held in The Holy Family Church in Rockland on Wednesday July 7, at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.

    I worked at the dwyer home and after my nana died in february (sandys best friend in there she would always say) sandy took over that role. i was always excited to go in and see her as she always put a smile on my face. She was always a special lady and i'll never forget her and watching the puppies with her.

    Sandy was the best ! She worked with my mother at the high school cafeteria for 10 years and was a good friend to my mother when she needed one! I always appreciated her yelling at me in the cafeteria line just to get us laughing! God Bless ! Gary Graz
