Obituary For Samuel W. DiNella

Samuel W. DiNella, 67 of Brockton died on March 29, 2015 at the Boston Medical Center. He was born in Quincy son of the late Samuel A. and Wilhelmina (Bell) DiNella and was raised and educated in Rockland. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. DiNella formerly owned and operated JB's Barbershop in Weymouth and most recently ran the barbershop at the Brockton VA Medical Center. Sam had been a member of the Rockland VFW.

He is survived by his daughter Samantha E. DiNella of Louisiana and his two grandsons, Sean John Michael DiNella and Eddie Strickland, Jr. He was the brother of Lee DelPrete and her husband Richard of Rockland and Mike DiNella and his wife Ann of Weymouth. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland from 4-7 PM. Cremation will follow.

    I remember the voice, the smile, the abundant concern for the sick and suffering addict and the welcoming hug. I remember the talks, the sharing, the quick joke and the fellowship given. Sammy walking with you was an honor and a privilege. I remember the ride to Salem you thought Ma. we went to NH you were a true friend even though we lost each other at times. I will forever remember and love you as a brother.

    I was so sorry to hear of Sammy's death. I'll always remember that voice and that smile and that he came to my brother Freddie's and my mom's funerals even though none of us had seen each for years. My condolences to his family.
