Obituary For Ruth E. Schadwald

Ruth E. (Collyer) Schadwald, 94 of Rockland. Died on January 21, 2019 at the Royal of Norwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on August 6, 1924 in Hanover to the late Charles and Ruth (Robinson) Collyer. Ruth was raised and educated in Hanover and Rockland. She was the loving wife of the late Louis R. Schadwald.

Ruth worked for many years as an eyelettor for Stetson Shoe Company. She enjoyed spending her time reading, knitting, cooking, gardening with her husband and bowling. She would take many trips to Nauset Beach with her husband and they were members of the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association.

She was the loving mother of Ruth A. Grenier and her husband Paul of Wareham. Ruth was the sister of Nancy J. Carle of Bridgewater, Joan M. Gillis and her husband Donald of FL, Edith M. Ferguson and her husband Melvin of VA, the late Charles A. Collyer, Robert Collyer, Owen Collyer, Thomas Collyer, Carlton Collyer and Merrium (Collyer) Ferwerda. Ruth is survived by her grandchildren Hollie M. Alvilhiera and her husband Frank and Eric A. Rechtman. She was the great grandmother of Jillian Alvilhiera and Kacie Alvilhiera. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are welcome to come celebrate Ruth's life on Monday January 28, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland, MA. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday January 29, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at a later date at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
