Obituary For Rosie (Jaylanah) Loftus

Rosie (Jaylanah) Loftus, 16, of Rockland, Massachusetts, gained her angel wings on July 30, 2026, passing away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on March 26, 2010, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Rosie was the beloved daughter of Kerri Loftus and Jonathan Pforr. She was raised by her grandmother, Sandra Savard, and her late grandfather, Kevin Loftus, whom she loved dearly. Rosie is survived by her siblings, Jayden Loftus and Janiah O’Neil, as well as her Aunt Abby Loftus and Uncle Matthew Savard, whom she considered her siblings. She also leaves behind her great-grandmother, Veronica Loftus, as well as her grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Though her time here was short, Rosie filled our lives with immense joy, laughter, and love. She was a spirited, fearless young woman who left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Rosie had a vibrant personality, embraced life with an open heart, and loved spending time with her friends. She enjoyed exploring new places, experiencing different ways of life, and celebrating every opportunity to make memories. Rosie lived life with joy, curiosity, and authenticity, bringing light to those around her with her beautiful spirit.

She was a vibrant soul through and through. Some of the happiest moments were spent outside with nature, whether that be her garden, summers on the cape, or hours on a trampoline. Rosie and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life service will be held in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Thursday August 13, 2026 from 5-8 PM. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday August 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Rosie Loftus Sail/Bridges scholarship. All donations should be sent to Carla Dunn c/o of Rockland High School, 52 Mackinlay Way, Rockland, MA 02370. Checks for this scholarship charity should be made payable to “Town of Rockland” in memory of Rosie (Jaylanah) Loftus.

I remember when we first met, you were so sweet. You always had my back when I needed you or told you about someone or something that was bothering me. I always had your back no matter what. I'm sorry we never hung out and I wish we did. You were such a sweet angel and I wish it didn't have to end like this. You were so young and you were so pretty. I love you so much sweet girl. May you rest in peace.

I remember the first time I met Rosie. I walked into a friends house and she immediately got up and gave me a big hug, we had never even spoken before. We all spent the day together and while going for a walk, Rosie waved to every car on the road. Rosie was the kindest, and most loyal person you would have ever met. She made it so easy to be her friend and feel close to her. I will forever miss you, sending all of my thoughts, love, and prayers to your family.
