Robert L. Deschaine, 78, of Rockland died at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham after a brief period of failing health. He was born in Millinocket, ME, son of the late Louis, and Lavina (Oullette) Meighan. Robert was raised and educated in Maine, graduating from Augusta High School. Robert moved to Quincy in his 20s, and later Plymouth, before moving to Rockland where he would live for over 30 years. Mr. Deschaine worked for many years as a Machinist and Die Setter for the Sigma Instruments and Electroswitch companies. Robert was the devoted Husband of Bridget (O'Sullivan) Deschaine of Ireland and Rockland. Dear Brother of Teresa Hacunda and her Husband Peter of RI, and his late sisters, Shirlene Shea and Carol Jean Deschaine. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Robert's family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Monday, April 13, 2015 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland MA at 8:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in the St Patrick's Cemetery in Rockland.
