Obituary For Robert F.X. Traverse

Robert F. X. Traverse, 85, of Halifax died on September17, 2014 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was born in Boston, son of the late Patrick and Alice (Bouzon) Traverse and was raised and educated there. He was a proud veteran of the Air Force during the Korean War.

Bob had resided in Dorchester for many years before moving to Abington in 1985. He has made his home in Halifax for the past 14 years. Mr. Traverse retired several years ago after a 40 year career as a roofer with Local #26 in Boston.

He is survived by his wife Jean A. (Paton) Traverse and his family Frederick J. Traverse of Quincy, Robert F. Traverse of Boston, Bonita L. Dugas of Whitman, Daniel C. Traverse of Haverhill, Joanna T. McGee of Quincy, Thomas Curran of Abington, Leslie A. Stinson and Robert P. Curran of Whitman, Joanne Fernandes of Plymouth, Deborah E. Brown of Halifax, Mark D. Curran of Hull and Christopher J. Curran of Halifax. He was predeceased by his son William P. Traverse. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. The Family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland on Monday September 22, 2014, 2014, from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday September 23, 2014 at 11:30 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery.
