Obituary For Robert Fritz

Robert Fritz, 75, of Rockland, passed away on June 3, 2022 at home after a lengthy illness.He was the son of the late Robert and Geraldine (Larkin) Fritz. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Marianne (McManus) Fritz, daughter Melissa Fritz of Rockland, son Christopher Fritz of Rockland , daughter Elizabeth (Fritz) Fay and husband Scott of Rockland, his sister Connie Egan and husband John of Dorchester. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Bob grew up in Weymouth and later Dorchester. He valued education and graduated high school from Newman School for Boys in Boston. He worked his way through college earning his Bachelor’s degree from Boston College, all while raising his young family. Bob was a man of many hobbies. As a younger man, he enjoyed playing softball and umpiring league games. Bob balanced long work hours and his volunteer work with Rockland Youth Soccer as both coach and Registrar. He was an avid reader, history buff, movie fanatic and loved computer games. He was a lover of all Boston sports franchises, especially the Boston Red Sox. Bob shared a special place in his heart for his dogs Midnight, Chief, Sadie, Max and Macy. Bob and his wife loved to travel; especially to tropical destinations. They frequented the Caribbean and particularly loved Hawaii making it there on six separate occasions. While there he loved snorkeling, beaches, photography and sunsets. Upon retiring from Oracle Corporation, Bob and Marianne would like to spend winters in Aruba. He finally had the time to do his woodworking creating a tables, storage chest and planter for family to enjoy. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, June 7th, 5-8 PM in the Magoun Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Holy Family Church, Rockland on Wednesday, June 8th at 9 AM.May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow, may the soft winds freshen your spirit, may the sunshine brighten your heart, may the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you, and may God enfold you in the mantle of His love
