Obituary For Robert Ellsworth Carr

Robert Ellsworth Carr, of Halifax died on Wednesday evening March 12, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family and cared for by Old Colony Hospice. He was born in Stoughton, son of Richard L. and Clara M. (Badger) Carr and was raised and educated in Easton graduating from Oliver-Ames High school. He had been a longtime Rockland resident and has made his home in Halifax for the past 36 years. Mr. Carr retired in 1998 from the Alger Corp. in Abington where he had been a machinist and consultant for over 15 years. He had previously been employed at Wind Welting Co. in Brockton for many years. He was a member of the John Cutler Lodge, AF&AM in Abington and had formerly been a member of the First Congregational Church in Rockland. He is survived by his wife Hope J. (Miller) Carr and his children, Richard E. Carr of ME, Jerilynn L. Yannone of Halifax, Barbara A. Ingals of Plympton, and Judith L. Carr of Halifax. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A Family Funeral Service was held in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street ROCKLAND, MA. The family requests that donations in his memory be made to Jordan Hospital, 275 Sandwich St. Plymouth, MA 02360.

    Dear Carr family, Very sorry to hear of the passing of Bob. We worked together for many years at Algers and he was a fantastic person to work with. I hadn't seen him for many years, but the memories will always remain.

    We will miss him dearly, He ment alot to all of us. He was the best Pepaw anyone could ask for. We loved him so much, We will always remember him.
