Obituary For Robert DeFilippo

Robert Theodore DeFilippo, 90, of Rockland, MA, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Robert (Bob) was born on October 27, 1931 to the late Guilio and Elizabeth (Romano) DeFilippo in Roxbury, MA. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 38 years, Elaine.

Bob and Elaine met at the Rockland Eagles where they were both members and enjoyed spending time there dancing, and socializing with friends. Bob worked for many years as a sheet metal supervisor at Mercury Metal in Abington, MA where he retired in 1995. After retirement, he worked part time as a landscaper for his nephew Tom’s landscape business. In Bob’s free time he was an avid golfer, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, scratch tickets and listening to music. Bob loved traveling to various destinations with his wife. If there was a sporting event on you could find him in his recliner enjoying the game and rooting on his favorite team. One of Bob’s favorite activities was sitting outside on his patio enjoying the sunshine. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family. Bob was the loving father to Pamela Jones of Plymouth, Debra Sheehan of Rockland, Brian Tirrell and his wife Jennifer of Plymouth and Christopher DeFilippo and his wife Beth of Rockland. Bob was a brother to the late Guilio DeFilippo, Edward DeFilippo of Dorchester, and the late John (Jack) DeFilippo. He was the most amazing Papa to Jason,

Samantha, Scott, Brittany, Daniel, Kimberly, Megan, Esabella, Anthony and Great Grandfather to Aliyah.

The family invites you to celebrate Bob’s life at the Rockland Eagles on Sunday November 6th 12-4 PM. To honor his memory donations can be made to: The Home for Little Wanderers or the NVNA and Hospice.

    Dearest Dad, I love you so very much, I know you are at peace, I will always have the all the memories we shared. From ice skating in Quincy and going to the beaches/clam digging in Quincy, and watching the Bruins together. All my love forever and always daddy.
