Obituary For Robert Corvi, Sr.

Robert Corvi, Sr. 86 of Rockland died on November 6, 2016 at the South Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rockland after a period of failing health. He was born in Braintree, son of the late Benedetto and Theresa (Giannini) Corvi.

Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served on the Rockland Fire Department for 22 years retiring with the rank of Lieutenant. He also served the Town of Rockland as a Sewer Commissioner and Water Commissioner.

He ran his own construction business for many years and loved woodworking. Bird houses were his specialty. He was an avid fisherman, deer hunter and enjoyed taking care of his swimming pool.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marcia B. (Weixler) Corvi and his children, Robert Corvi, Jr. of Rockland and Susan A. Garden and her husband Michael of Florida. He was the grandfather of Lisa Suarez and her husband Rodrigo and great grandfather to Ethan and Ella Suarez. A special young man, Stevie Kimball, who was like a grandson also survives him. He was the brother of Catherine Corvi and Elizabeth Moreland both of Braintree and the late Laura Draper. Also surviving are extended family members and many wonderful friends.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street, Rockland, MA. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday November 12, 2016 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy. When were kids during the blizzard of 78 , Bob came to the rescue with his Ford Backhoe. Almost every winter , he would pile the snow into a giant mountain so we could build snow fort's. He put in our first driveway. He was such a great man. We would all run out to greet Bob , when he would pull in to say hi to our parents. We have such great memories of Bob. He will never be forgotten. He was such a part of Rockland. My condolences to the Corvi family. GOD bless. James MacDonald .
