Sending my deepest condolences to the family. I've known Mr. D for almost 14 years. He started out as just a regular customer of mine at dunks, when I left dunks I went to a pizza shop where he's been my customer there ever since. He would always bring the jokes. Coffee in the morning just hasn't been the same. Mr. D will be miss by so many.

We are devastated to hear of Mr Doherty's passing. He was a father to all kids of Rockland, always a smile and a hello. Called every one by name, attended everything that was Rockland. He was Rockland. I personally have spent the last five or six years most mornings with him with the gang of friends that would gather every morning fish and talk about family and friends. He always brought the joke and laughter into my life every morning to start my day. All the guys down at the fishing Reeds pond in Rockland, of course, wish his family our sincerest condolences. Thank you for sharing him with us. From the boys down at the fishing hole Eric, Joe, Jim, Barney, Steve, Donny, and for the last time stay out of Barneys hole. RIP Dick

I am so thankful to have had Mr. Doherty in my life! Not only is he the dad to my friend Teri, but I like to think that he was my friend, too! I was lucky enough to have known him throughout my childhood up through graduating from high school, and I always loved seeing him at school and he always made me laugh! He was such a good man and a great role model! I have always loved this whole family and you know how good of a father and man he was by the wonderful way all of those kids turned out! I am so bummed that I cannot be there to celebrate his life with the family and friends, but I will be down here in Florida and celebrating him in my own way! My love, my prayers, and my condolences go to Mrs. Doherty (the world's best knitter ever!!), my lifelong friend Teri, all those brothers and sister Pam, and to all of the grandkids and greats, too!
