Obituary For Richard F. Lynch
Richard F. Lynch, 60 of Rockland died on April 10, 2008 at his home, surrounded by family and cared for by Old Colony Hospice. He was born in Boston, son of the late Charles L. and Mary C. (Ryan) Lynch and was raised and educated in Roslindale. He was a graduate of Roslindale High School. Richard was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. A Rockland resident for the past 25 years, he had been employed for 18 years as a machinist at Symmons Industries in Braintree and had also worked at several other machine shops in Boston and on the South Shore. Richard was a past member of both the Abington American Legion and Veteran's of Foreign Wars. He was an animal lover and avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife Mary E. Martin of Rockland. He was the brother of Charles H. Lynch of Plymouth, Col. Robert E. Lynch of Washington, DC, Margaret L. Spang of Millbury and the late Thomas J. Lynch, Sr. and Stephen G. Lynch. Also surviving are his Godson and caretaker Thomas J. Lynch, Jr. and several other nieces and nephews along with his faithful companion "Clayton", the Martin brothers and sistersand his beloved brother and sister in heart and love, Kevin and Linda Sullivan. A Funeral was held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND on Monday, April 14th at 8:15 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow in Holy Family Church at 9:00 AM. Calling hours were on Sunday, April 13th from 5:00-8:00 PM. After cremation, inurnment will be on Friday April 18th at 11:00 AM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. . Donations in his memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA. 02368, or the Jimmy Fund, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor Brookline, MA 02445.
