Obituary For Richard Desroches

Richard M Desroches of Plymouth passed away on March 9th from a sudden illness. Son of the late Joseph Desroches and Lois Desroches of Plymouth. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Desroches of Rockland and the late Jeanne Desroches of Plymouth. Devoted father of Michelle Gannon of Halifax, Dennis Desroches and his wife Stacey of Middleboro, Dawn McLaughlin and her husband David of Abington and Gene Daly of Quincy. Loving grandfather of Cameron Gannon, Taylor and Troy Desroches and Rosemary and Molly McLaughlin. Dick is survived by his brother Paul Desroches and his wife Alice of Alaska and his sister Marilyn Adams and her husband Jim of Florida. Dick was born and raised in Hanover MA and graduated from Hanover High School in 1960. He served in the Navy from 1962 to 1966 and served on the USS America Aircraft Carrier. He married the late Patricia Desroches of Rockland and raised their 2 children in Rockland. Dick worked for Macy's for 48 years as an electrician. He recently retired in December of 2020. He was very lucky to make some very close friends during his time with Macy's. Dick and Jeanne were blessed to have found each other. The last 20 years of his life Dick and Jeanne loved going out to eat, playing golf and traveling. They were able to travel often and to great places. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 3:00-5:00pm at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street, Rockland MA. Private Mass will be held at Holy Family Church in Rockland on Monday. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Richard's memory to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
