Absolutely in shock! ! ! Rick and I have been best of friends since the early 70's on Pacific St., (our families were friends since the 60's). Rick, Ron S., Gerard M., & and myself spent many years together.
My early memories were of us four hanging out next door at Jack Lewis's house, riding mini-bikes, and playing in the neighborhood softball games at the Division St. Power Plant. I was certainly blessed to be invited into the Jackson home. I have fond memories of playing cards at their kitchen table and remember Mr. Jackson and the family dog (Princess), watching over us kids and keeping us safe.
I was honored to have Rick in my wedding. I especially remember how well he got along with everyone in the wedding party. I was always proud to call Rick my friend. He was a brother to me.
Although we grew apart as we started our careers and families, Ricky always found time to talk and check in with us. He would talk about his newest lyrics. I listened to him and watched him smile as he gave insight to the thoughts and meaning behind the song.
I always knew that this was his true love. Rick's passion was in his words, and his music. He shared his work with all who wanted to hear his poems, and his songs. Rick had awesome talent for telling his stories of life through them. He was true to his music and his writings. Each song and each poem were special to him. His talent and his drive will be missed by all that knew Rick.

My deepest sympathies go out to Sally, Patty, Wayne, Jimmy and family. He has touched each person that had the opportunity to know him. I will miss Ricky and I will ever forget him.

    Love Fran Sheputa
    GREAT TIMES AND GREAT MEMORIES.
