Obituary For Richard C. Bryant
Richard C. Bryant, 79, of Marshfield passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on January 11, 2026.
I met Rich at Rockland High School in October of 1963 when I was fifteen years old. We married in September of 1968 after he finished college and I finished nursing school.
Rich was quiet and unassuming, yet bursting with talent. He believed that talking was overrated, but he could sing and play the guitar beautifully. He did so for all three of his children at their weddings; he was just as comfortable doing that as he was playing for friends and family around a campfire. Several of his paintings hang in our house. Every room in our home displays his talents; the chair rails, our mantel, and hardwood floors are all reminders of his artistic approach to everything.
Perhaps his greatest talent was his effortless ability to be a good person. He was patient, non-judgmental, kind, and loyal, always putting his family first. He was always present for those who needed him.
We are blessed to have three grown up children, all of them married and local enough to be able to celebrate special occasions and make an occasional camping trip in Rangeley, Maine.
Eric and his wife Tracy live in Pembroke, Aimee and her husband Bob live in Plymouth, and Christopher and his wife Sara live in Cumberland, Rhode Island. Every one of them will sorely miss Rich's presence in their lives.
The Bryant family wishes to invite friends and loved ones to celebrate Rich's life at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home in Rockland, 135 Union St, on Monday January 19th from 4-7PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Rockland, 403 Union St, on Tuesday January 20th at 9AM.

The Lewis Family
Our deepest condolences to the Bryant family. Rich was a kind-hearted soul, and he will be deeply missed by all. Never once did I see him raise his voice, and us kids gave him plenty of opportunities growing up—especially during our road trip to Florida! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

I remember him being very quiet and unassuming...I also remember a bit of his art...which is something we both loved...to create. Rest, Rich...and yes, be at peace.

I had the privilege of meeting Rich and Sue at an event to honor Rich's Great Grandfather(2X) Capt. Lewis Reed. Rich was so proud of his family lineage, and I am grateful to he and his wife for taking the time to share it with me. You will be missed.

I remember 1963. Sue and I were friends and classmates and were blessed to have the cutest boyfriends. Richie was a quiet, nice guy. Now years later we and our "boyfriends" reconnected. Sue, you and your family are in my heart and prayers
