Obituary For Richard A. Aitken

Richard A. Aitken, 73 of Rockland died on August 12, 2016 at the Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center. He was born in Stoughton, son of the late Allen and Barbara (Damon) Aitken and was raised and educated in Rockland.

Dick had a long career as a firefighter in the Town of Rockland and retired in 2007 after more than 40 years of service. He was a member of the International Association of Firefighters and Rockland Firefighters Local #1602. He was an avid Red Sox fan and he enjoyed cooking.

He is survived by his children, Jonathan R. Aitken of Abington, Kerri A. Aitken of Harwich, Christy M. Tomolillo and Carl E. Tomolillo of Rockland and Sheri L. Schmidt of Carver. He was the grandfather of Natalie Clubine and the brother of David Aitken of Las Vegas and Brian Aitken of Hanover. The family welcomes friends and relatives to celebrate his life on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
