Obituary For Regina M. Furman

Regina M. Furman (McCarthy) of Hanover died surrounded by her family and friends on March 12, 2014 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a long illness. She was 72 years old. She was raised in Cambridge and lived in Hanover for the past 37 years.

Regina's fond early memories were growing up in Cambridge with the O'Connor's on Kelley Street and spending summers in Green Harbor. She attended St. Clements High School in Somerville. She worked at Grants Department store where she met her best friend, Carol Gill (Madden).

Prior to starting her own family, she worked as an executive assistant at Gillette and made many lifelong friendships that she cherished.

She was a devoted wife and Mom. Second to her family and extended circle of friends, she loved cooking and baking for family, friends and neighbors and taking trips to the Jersey shore with her husband to visit her extended family, the Palamaro's. She was very proud of her Irish roots and Cambridge ties.

She was the beloved wife of Henry F. Furman of Hanover. Loving Mother of Christopher Furman of Hanover and Andrea Furman of Hanover. Survived by her sister, Jacqueline Furman of Hull. Best friend of Carol Gill (Madden) of Woburn. Predeceased by her parents Anna McCarthy (Collins) and Edward McCarthy of Cambridge. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will take place on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home in Rockland, Massachusetts. The Celebratory Mass will take place on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 10:00 at St. Mary's Church in Hanover, Massachusetts. The Christian Burial at Hanover Center Cemetery will follow. Regina was the kindest, most giving person I have ever known. I missed meeting her in person last May as I passed through Boston on my way to a cruise because Regina had just discovered her diagnosis. However, I always enjoyed her emails and posts on the cooking board sites we both visited. She was loved dearly and will be missed by many.

Always with a big hello and I could almost see the smile on her face as we talked of other things beside my business problems. We are sorry for your family and your loss and understand Regina will be greatly missed by many. Prayers to you and family
