Obituary For Phyllis A. O'Donnell
Phyllis A. (Carver) O'Donnell, 85, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2014, with her children by her side. Phyllis was raised in Neponset and lived in Rockland for over 50 years. It was there she raised her family, volunteered and worked, all with great energy and passion.
Phyllis always maintained her optimism, great sense of humor and zest for life, despite numerous personal and health challenges. She loved God and her family and making people laugh. Phyllis was a woman of great faith and simplicity who always put others before herself. She would talk at great length to anyone about anything, but politics and religion were her favorite topics.
Phyllis made great meatballs and sauce, loved to work in the yard and shop at yard sales. She loved all things made in America. She dedicated many years to volunteerism including church, schools and the town of Rockland.
Wife of the late Patrick O'Donnell, she is survived by her son Dan O'Donnell of Rockland, her daughter Maureen Woodworth, son-in-law Stephen and granddaughters Megan and Lauren, all of Milford, MA. Phyllis also leaves many nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply and whose relationships she cherished. In addition she leaves her very best friends, Grace Smith, and Jan and Ken Doherty.
The family welcomes friends and loved one's to celebrate her life on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA, from 5-8 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street Rockland, MA on Thursday March 13, 2014 at 9:00am. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Donations in her name may be made to the South Shore Hospital, Weymouth, or Holy Family Parish, Rockland.

Thank you Danny for taking the time last week to let me know of your moms passing. I don't know why Phyllis & I hit it off so well but I feel blessed that we had a connection. She could cheer me up with her smile & quick wit faster than anyone I've known. An awesome, faith filled lady whom I will miss. Phyllis, Rest In Peace Girlfriend.

Dear Danny & Maureen, I was so saddened to hear of your mom's passing. The last of the original Stanton Street moms to go. I will always remember her quick wit, her perpetual smile , her gift of gab, her causes, her faith, her love of family, her digging in the dirt and the goodies on the kitchen counter. She will always hold a special place in my heart and always be a happy memory of childhood days. Love Claudia

Words cannot express the sorrow that I feel. You have managed to touch the lives of everyone you met with your kindness, your strength and your laughter. Many will weep and mourn this day, but those tears of sadness will soon lead to smile and laughter as we reflect on all that you did and all that you were. I will remember your strength in the face of adversity and your ability to brighten every room. Most of all I will remember that your spirit will never die and you will be looking over us until the time that we meet again. Safe journey home. I will continue to celebrate your life. I love you and will miss you always. Kelly

Oh my God, Danny and Maureen, Just saw this now and am in shock! So very sorry for your great loss. she was a very special friend of mine and a wonderful person and friend to all who knew her. She did so much for everyone. You both meant the world to her. Your mom always had a smile on her face, a kind word for all and was there to help whenever she could. I could tell both of you were so special in her life. She always spoke so proudly of you both. May all my prayers and the prayers of so many of her friends help you both through these difficult days ahead. God bless you both. Phyllis, I will miss you dearly and as I write this tears are falling all over my keyboard. Until we met again.....behave yourself up there in heaven. Love, Judy
