Obituary For Philip M. Boylan
Philip Michael Boylan, 72, of Rockland passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, after a sudden diagnosis of lung cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Philip was born and raised in Charlestown, MA. That is where he met and fell madly in love with his late wife, Connie and started their growing family. In 1986 Phil and Connie planted their roots down in Rockland, MA where they raised and watched their 4 daughters grow up and start their own families. Their home held so many great memories that their children and grandchildren will always remember and cherish.
Philip, son of the late Margaret Boylan and Harold Kane, is pre-deceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Connie L Boylan. He is survived by his three daughters, Rebecca OāRegan, her husband Dennis, Michelle Sargent, the late son in law Edward(Teddy) Sargent, Catherine Boylan, son in law Jimmy Connolly and the late Elizabeth(Liz) Boylan. In addition to his children, Phil is survived by his 12 grandchildren Kayleigh and Connor OāRegan, Kristina, Brianna, Cassidy, Teddy and Brady Sargent, James Keaveney, Riley Boylan, and Avery, Declan and Logan Connolly.
He is also survived by his brother Bernard Boylan, sister Natalie Macdonald, and brother and sister in law William and Denise Gallion. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
From 1972 to 2015 Phil worked for what is now Verizon as an auto mechanic. Over those 40+ years is where he met and developed his lifelong friendships that remained strong up until he passed. He loved nothing more than going out with the retirees for a good cup of coffee and conversation.
Phil had a love for Elvis and Neil Diamond that he passed down to his daughters. They enjoyed going to Neil Diamond concerts as a family and as recently gone to the musical all together. He had a love of collecting trucks, cars and trinkets that he passed down to his grandkids. His grandsons loved getting their Hess trucks he ordered them for Christmas each year.
In retirement, Phil, cherished the time with his kids and grandchildren. Whether it was sporting and school events, holidays, birthdays or just simply a visit you could always find Grampy there with them. Both him and Connie enjoyed their weekends at the Twin River casinos and going to Maine or Cape Cod for mini vacations. He loved his mornings hanging out at Dunkin with his friends and socializing with everyone.
Phil will always be remembered as a very patient, kind and humble man. He was always willing to help anyone who was in need. Whether it was just a listening ear or helping with any task you needed done or helped with. He got great joy in helping anyone out in need.
At his core Phil was a family man who devoted his time and love to his wife, children and his 12 grandchildren.
Phil, Dad, Grampy- we will miss you so much but we know that in the end you missed being with mom and Liz. Hugs and kisses. We love you to the moon and back!
The Boylan family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Philipās life in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A funeral home service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.

Phil Boylan was a kind man. My elderly father lives across the street. Phil always attempted to help my Dad with things around the house. Always cheerful, kind and cooperative. Thank You Phil for helping my father. RIP Tom Heffernan

I've known Phil since about the first day I started at The Phone Company in 89 and from that point I had a great friend as well. you could always rely on him i've got to see what a great family man he was, and as his family grew a great grandfather .too I'm really gonna miss him so much I'll miss the times that we met up for coffee and conversation.
