Obituary For Peter Umbrianna Sr.

Peter Umbrianna Sr., 91, of Halifax, MA, died peacefully at home on May 04, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Peter was born on August 9,1933 in Rockland, son of the late Josephine and Vincent James Umbrianna. He was raised on Dublin Row with his ten siblings. He was a proud Korean War Veteran who served in the US Air Force. Peter loved all things New England sports and engaging with others post game. He also enjoyed watching GRIT tv, yard work, visiting casinos, and playing softball and bowling in his earlier years; and most importantly, spending time with his family.

Peter is survived by his wife Dianne Umbrianna (Agostino). He was preceded in death by his first wife Priscilla Mae (Drysdale). Together, he and Priscilla had four children, daughters Karen Dodder (Robert), Cyndi Smith (Keith), Holli Remington and son Peter Jr.. He was blessed with three stepsons when he married Dianne, Natale Agostino (Lisa), Marco Agostino (Martine), and Carlo Agostino (J’Aime).

He is also survived by his sister Mary (Pippie) Patten and his brother Vincent Jr. (Jeannie) along with 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Earle Remington, daughters-in-law Debra Randall and Irene Umbrianna (Nisby), sisters Betty Ruble, Rosie Florio, Angie Cerce, Anna DelPrete, Lena Pratt, Dorothy Genest, Mary Aretino and his brother Angelo Umbrianna.

Peter’s family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate his life in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 AM. A prayer service will be held at 11:00. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Abington.

    Dear Diane, Karen, Cyndi, Butchie, Holly and family. I am so sorry for Uncle Pete's passing. I was glad to be with him when he went it was an honor that you allowed me to be there. I will miss him so much, his laugh, his wisdom and most of all when he teased. I know what you are going through, so my thoughts, prayers and love are with you.
