Peter was a gentle man with an enormous heart and a kind manner. I am proud to be his uncle and wish all his family our love and support. When Peter's grandmother, my mother, died in 1991, Peter wrote a magnificent ode in her memory, entitled "The Girl on the Porch." This marvelous tribute hangs on our wall just inside the front door and while it is all worth remembering, perhaps the last two lines best capture Peter, who wrote: "The gift of love will remain, Our thanks is to pass it on." Peter, thank you and Godspeed.

Pete has left his mark on the hearts of those he worked with & the patients whose lives he touched. I will miss his good humor & realistic outlook. His absence on the Partner's Home Care team will be felt for quite some time. I feel fortunate to have known him and take comfort in knowing that he enjoyed so much of his time with us.

I didn't know Peter well, but almost 5 yrs. ago he purchased a yellow lab puppy from me, and I think he was going to name him Max. Peter seemed like a really great guy, a down to earth type with a good sense of humor. I was very happy that one of my puppies was going to such a good home. I'm so sorry to hear that Peter is gone. I hope that if Max is still around that he's being well taken care of. I'd love to know what became of him if anybody knows. Feel free to contact me.

I was so sad to hear about losing Peter. I went to nursing school with Peter at Laboure and we became good friends. We had many laughs and good times together. Peter was one of the smartest guys I know. I always knew he would be a great nurse. He had a great sense of compassion. To the Hammond family, I can only imagine your sorrow and sense of loss. Peter was a great guy, and will be truly missed. Mary Keady

I'm sorry Pete is gone. I went to North Eastern University with Pete. I only lasted a year there. I'm not sure how long he was there. Pete loved the Grateful Dead. He turned me on to Little Feet. I shared a room with Pete for about a year at NEU. He was a great guy. I have thought about him over the years. As usual, I am years late and dollars short. I'm very sorry for your loss.

    Tom
