Obituary For Peter A DelPrete

Peter Anthony DelPrete
October 28, 1949 - August 11, 2022

Peter Anthony DelPrete, age 72, formerly of Rockland, Mass. passed away peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital on August 11, 2022 with members of his family by his side.

He worked for DelPrete Construction of Rockland and the Middleboro Department of Public Works.

Peter was a gentle giant with a good heart and an infectious smile. His first passion was riding his motorcycle in his younger days. He also enjoyed his fishing trips with his family and friends. His favorite trip was to Disney World in Florida with his twin brother Paul and Paul’s family. Peter always had a passion for his coffee, donuts, and having a large coffee roll while he was scratching a good lottery ticket.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and his friends at Cape Winds Rest Home in Sandwich.

Peter was the son of the late Albert F. DelPrete and the late Christine M. DelPrete, both of Rockland.

He will be sadly missed by his many brothers and sisters, Patricia Viella and husband Robert of Plymouth, Ruth Sargent of Rockland, the late Albert F. DelPrete Jr. of California, Sandra Calderwood and husband John of Hanover, Diane Herdegen of Texas, Linda Blackwell of Nevada, the late David DelPrete of Duxbury, his twin brother Paul A. Delprete and wife Gail of Buzzards Bay, Christine Jordan and husband Al of Rockland, Mary DelPrete of Kingston, and Dominic DelPrete and wife Brenda of Rockland.

He is also survived by his 32 nieces and nephews with many grand nieces and nephews.

The DelPrete family welcomes friends and loved ones to say goodbye to Peter on August 26, 2022 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland, Mass. 02370. Visiting hours will be 9-11 am, then a service at the Funeral Home from 11-11:30 am.

Graveside services will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Liberty St, Rockland, Mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cape Winds Rest Home, 125 Main St. Sandwich, Mass. 02563.

    Uncle Peter I didn't get to spend as many years with you as all my cousins and other family members on the East Coast But the memories of the times we did spend together. Bring a smile to my face and joy in my heart . I am for ever grateful for those Precious Times! I will hold those memories close to my heart until we meet again May you rest in peace May the Lord lift you up cleanse you In the blood of Jesus Christ and wipe away all your worldly sins that you may enter Heaven and be seated by our Lord our Father AMEN

    it was a long time ago when i first knew Peter and the Delprete family. He was always a sweet man and never had a bad word for anyone...Rest in peace Pete, you will be missed. God bless all whom are left behind and cherish the memories of the gentle giant that Peter was.

    I have such great memories of us kids growing up. You always had a smile on your face and a great big bear hug. I know that you are home now and giving hugs to your Mom, Dad, and brothers. RIP Peter. Prayers to all of Peter's family.
