Obituary For Paul M. Gilbrook

Paul M. "Gilly" Gilbrook, 61 of Rockland died at the New England Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Boston, son of the late John and Mary (Gartland) Gilbrook and was raised and educated in Dorchester. During his youth he was the leader of the "Saints."

A Rockland resident since 1977 Paul was the owner operator of Gilbrook Trucking for more than 40 years and was proud of his tractor named "Gertrude." He was an avid history buff and enjoyed watching the History Channel. An avid Patriots fan, he was devoted to his family and was thought of as "Dad" by all of his children's friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his wife Paula J. (Zinkowski) Gilbrook, he was the father of Paul M. Gilbrook, Jr. and Susan M. Emile, both of Rockland and the late Kristie A. Alasa. Gilly was the brother of John Gilbrook of FL, James Gilbrook of Rockland, Regina Fernald of Plymouth, William Gilbrook, Patricia McKay, and Mary Ann Peasley all of Hull as well as the late Georginne Melchione. He was the loving grandfather of Adiza "Lilly" Alasa, Max J. Huggins, JohnPaul Emile, Isabella Emile and the late Molly S. Alasai

The Gilbrook family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Friday, September 23, 2011 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in Holy Family Church on Saturday September 24, 2011 at 9:00 AM. Burial will be private.
