Obituary For Paul M. Gauthier
Paul M. Gauthier 50 of Rockland died suddenly on June 18, 2014 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. He was born in Milton, son of the late John H. and Virginia (Mayo) Gauthier and was raised and educated in Braintree. He has made his home in Rockland for many years.
Mr. Gauthier was a longtime member of Local #1421 of the Building Wreckers Union. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and the Army National Guard. He was a longtime coach of both Rockland Youth Basketball and Baseball and was an announcer for Rockland Youth Football.
He is survived by his wife, Christine (Morrill) Gauthier and his children, Jamie, Steven and Harry as well as his beloved dog Murphy. He was the brother of Denise Spaulding and her husband Ronald of Braintree, Jeffrey Gauthier and his wife Robin of Abington, Jack Gauthier and his wife Joanne of Braintree and Rita Dennehy and her husband Tom of Abington. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland on Monday June 23, 2014 from 5-8PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget's Church, in Abington on Tuesday June 24, 2014 at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to The Paul M. Gauthier Scholarship Fund, c/o Rockland Trust Co. 288 Union St. Rockland, MA 02370.
