Obituary For Paul J. Schipper

Paul J. Schipper, 69 of Rockland died on March 29, 2017 at the South Shore Hospital. He was born in Weymouth son of the late George P. and Ruth A. (Loughan) Schipper and was raised and educated in Rockland. He attended South Shore Vocational High School and later graduated from Rockland High School with the Class of 1965. He served his country proudly in the Army National Guard.

He had been employed at Tedeschi, Angelo's and Purity Supermarkets as a produce manager for many years. He later was the owner and operator of D & S Construction Co. an excavation contractor in Manomet, he moved to Ft. Meyers and Punta Gorda, Florida and continued that line of work for three years. When Paul returned to Rockland he worked briefly with his brother at Don Robbins Furniture C. in Rockland and most recently he was a manager at Republic Plumbing Co. in Pembroke for 15 years.

Paul was an active member of the Rockland Knights of Columbus having served as the President of the Columbian Social Club, he also was a member of the Rockland Aerie of Eagles.

He is survived by his daughters Jennifer and Kristen Schipper of Texas, his siblings John E. Schipper, Dennis J. Schipper and Peter A. Schipper all of Rockland and Rosemary Schipper-Villa of Abington. He was the grandfather of Kelly Good, Sarah Zimmerman, Bailey Mauldin and Kayla and Joshua Mundell.

The family welcomes family and friends to celebrate Paul's life on Sunday April 2, 2017 from 4:00 PM–7:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street in Rockland. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday April 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church.

    My prayers go out to the Schipper family. I used to work with Paul at Angelo's Supermarket way back in the day in the produce department. He actually trained me when I started working there. I am saddened to hear of his passing.
