Obituary For Patricia A. LaConte

Patricia A. (McSharry) LaConte, 68 of Rockland died on August 20, 2017 at the South Shore Hospital after a period of failing health. She was born in Weymouth one of 13 children of Thomas and Mary (Coveney) McSharry and was raised and educated in Braintree and Abington. She attended Archbishop Williams High School and graduated from Abington High School in 1966.

A longtime Rockland resident, Patty had previously worked for the telephone company and later served as the office manager for McSharry Brothers Construction Company. She was an avid reader of Science Fiction and Mystery Novels. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her sisters playing cards. One of her great joys of late was to spend time ""Skyping" with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children David J. LaConte of Rockland and Matthew P. LaConte of Chesterfield, MO. She was the Grammie of Nora R. LaConte, Colin M. Laconte and Brynn T. LaConte. Her twelve siblings, Dianne Wells of Duxbury, Mary Rice of Abington, Frances Cook of Falmouth, Ellen Lauria of Rockland, Peggy Watts of Moseley, VA. Elizabeth Healey of Hingham, Thomas McSharry of Las Vegas, David McSharry of Duxbury, John McSharry of Abington, Michael McSharry, Mark McSharry and Joseph McSharry all of Rockland. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget Church, in Abington on Thursday August 24, 2017 at 9:00 AM. After cremation, burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Weymouth. Donations in her memory may be made to the Activity Fund at South Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center 115 North Avenue Rockland, MA 02370.
