Norma M. (Machado) Sides, age 97, of Norwell, formerly of Hanover, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at The Cordwainer of Norwell. She was born in Shanghai, China, on February 6, 1928.

Norma was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Robert T. Sides, and her son, Richard L. Sides. She is survived by her children: Michael Sides (Sylvia Hopson), Judi Sides (Guy Tringale), and Susan Pantaleo (Jack Pantaleo). She is also survived by six grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff at The Cordwainer, Sunset Hospice, and the ladies of Solace Care.

While living in Shanghai, she met and married Robert. She moved to America after the birth of their son, Richard. She attended Curry College and was passionate about education, devoting her life to teaching. Eventually, she became a special needs teacher, a role she embraced with deep care and commitment.

Norma also had a passion for fashion and worked for many years at Potpourri Designs. Her hobbies included painting, singing, dancing, and writing—she was the author of *Norma's Journey.* A longtime and active member of the United Church of Christ in Norwell, she also sang in the choir, sharing her love of music and faith with others. She especially cherished her role as a grandmother, finding immense joy in time spent with her grandchildren.

Known for her kindness, gentle spirit, and elegant sense of fashion, she brought joy to those around her and inspired many through her dedication, compassion, and unwavering love.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday June 17, 2025, at the United Church of Christ 460 Main Street Norwell, MA 02061.
