Obituary For Nancy M. Grady
Nancy M. Grady (Galligan), 78 of Marshfield died suddenly on May 21, 2014 at South Shore Hospital. She was born and raised in Providence, RI, daughter of the late Walter and Evelyn (Scullian) Galligan. She was a member of the Class of 1953 at St. Xavier Academy and Class of 1955 at Bryant College.
She was the mother of Daniel Grady of Centennial, CO and Sharon Pigeon and husband Greg of Rockland, MA and sister of Walter Galligan and wife Ann of Brighton, CO and David Galligan and wife Carolyn of Tucson, AZ. Also surviving are granddaughters Alexandra Pigeon and Avery Grady, several nieces and nephews and former husband John Grady.
After living in New England and the Midwest, she settled in Darien, CT in 1969 where she spent 35 years. She was a member of the Nutmeg Curling Club and enjoyed playing piano, tennis and golf. Later, she had a successful sales and management career in the Temporary Services industry.
She moved to Marshfield in 2004 where she took tap dancing and Spanish classes and enjoyed music, reading and the theatre. Her curiosity and love of learning continued throughout her life. She especially loved the summer, spending her days at the beach surrounded by family and friends and enjoying peaceful walks along the shore. A people person with the gift of gab and a wonderful sense of humor, she brought much joy and laughter to all who knew her and will be remembered fondly by many in her community.
Services were private upon her request.
