Mildred G. Materna, age 97, a lifelong resident of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on October 11, 2012. Daughter of the late Alex and Mary (Smith) Ray. She was the wife of Carl Materna. They were joined in marriage for 71 years until the time of Carl's death in 2010. Surviving is Millie's daughter, Karlene (Gary) Crawford of Gaylord, MI., sons Terry (Bonnie) Materna of Onaway, MI., Tony (Ann) Materna of Rockland and Robert (Ann) Materna of Plymouth. 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Millie was pre-deceased by her daughter Sondra, sisters Leona, Eleanor, Florence and Helen and brother Fred Ray. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of Michigan, 830 S.
